While Tiger Woods looks for a new swing coach, questions arise concerning veteran coach Hank Haney’s decision to part ways with the golfer.
On Monday night, Haney, who coached Woods for the last six years, announced, “I believe at this time that it is in both of our best interests for me to step aside as Tiger’s coach.”
According to one insider, Haney’s unspoken reason behind the career move had everything to do with Woods’ troubles off the green.
“Hank is a very proper person,” the source explained to Radar Online. “He is a good and moral man and very private. He’s been horrified by the revelations that have come out regarding Tiger and his behavior and quite frankly says he has no regard for a person that acts like that.”
Although the source insisted the 54-year-old was once “absolutely thrilled” to work for the four-time Masters champ, that all changed sometime after multiple mistress allegations hit the headlines.
“Hank doesn’t want to be mixed up in that kind of, you know, whatever’s going on,” the source said, later adding, “Ultimately, the years that they were together just ran out. And Hank gave it a ton of thought and just decided I’m done. And when Hank is done, he’s done, there’s no persuading otherwise.”
