Betty White Reacts To Rue McClanahan’s Death

Posted by Sam On June - 3 - 2010

Rue McClanahan, Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty, and Betty White made up the hilarious cast of the hit ’80s sitcom The Golden Girls.

Early Thursday, Rue — the classy star who played the Blanche, the Slut-You’ll-Grow-To-Love — passed away of a massive stroke. She was 76 – a fact her alter-ego would never dream of divulging! Now Betty — the last surviving member of the quartet — remembers her friend.

“Rue was a close and dear friend. I treasured our relationship. It hurts more than I even thought it would, if that’s even possible,” the senior who single-handedly made old “in” again said in a statement Thursday.
