In her first TV interview since separating from adulterous husband John Edwards last January, Elizabeth Edwards told The TODAY Show’s Matt Lauer Wednesday that she is “not just a cuckolded wife.” Edwards has been in the public eye since John — a former Democratic candidate for president — confessed in 2008 that he had carried on an affair with videographer Rielle Hunter during his campaign. He later confirmed that he had fathered a young daughter, Frances Quinn, with the eccentric woman.
“I still think this person is so unlike me. It’s hard to imagine the same person could marry me and be attracted to that woman as well.”
