Lohan Calls Justice System “Perverted”: Says Jail Sentence Is A Violation Of Her Human Rights!
One day after being sentenced to 90 days in the Los Angeles County Jail, Lindsay Lohan is lashing out at the American criminal justice system on her Twitter account.
The jailbird-to-be is desperately tweet-quoting the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights in an attempt to prove the court’s wrongdoing.
“It is clearly stated in Article 5 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights that … ‘No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment,” LiLo Tweeted in one message.
Adding moments later: “This was taken from an article by Erik Luna.. ‘November 1 marked the 15th anniversary of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. But there were no … celebrations, parades, or other festivities in honor of this punishment scheme created by Congress and the US Sentencing Commission…”
She’s even been doing some background reading — quoting an article penned by law professor Erik Luna that condemns the US Sentencing Commission for seeing “scores of federal defendants sentenced under a constitutionally perverted system that saps moral judgment through its mechanical rules.”
In case you’ve been living in a bubble: Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 90 days of inpatient rehab for violating the terms of her probation stemming from two arrests for DUI/cocaine possession in 2007.
