Mel Gibson’s Lawyer Say Tapes Were Tampered With: Ex Wife Offers Support

Mel Gibson’s anger tapes, made public by Oskana Grigorieva,  have been given to detectives investigating the star.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore told AP today that detectives received the recordings this morning after a closed court hearing attended by lawyers for Gibson and his ex-girlfriend Oksana. All of the attorneys declined comment. The sheriff’s department is investigating whether the Academy Award-winner abused Grigorieva in January. Whitmore says the detectives will now work to authenticate the recordings for a possible criminal case.

TMZ reports that Whitmore says detectives also want to talk to Gibson, but have not gotten an answer as to whether that will happen.  They do however say that the tapes have been tampered with and that there is proof evident which may land Oskana in a big fat jail cell.

The site also reports that Mel’s ex-wife, Robyn, has filed a written, sworn declaration to the courts that says, “Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage.”
