Famed defense attorney Robert Shapiro has parted ways with Lindsay Lohan (24) just hours before the actress is expected to turn herself in to begin serving a 90-day sentence behind bars, according to a new report.
On Monday night, TMZ reported that the attorney let Judge Marsha Revel, the Superior Court judge overseeing Lohan’s case, know that he is not representing the actress any longer.
O.J. Simpson’s former attorney publicly announced he had agreed to take over as the star’s representative after her legal Shawn Holley Chapman quit earlier this month. Chapman walked away from the Mean Girls star on the day she was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating probation on a 2007 DUI arrest.
Shapiro, who lost his son to a drug overdose in 2005, insisted Lohan check into his sober living facility before starting her prison time on Tuesday, but according to TMZ.com, the lawyer has opted not to represent Lohan – even though she adhered to his rules by entering rehab in Los Angeles last week.
