Judge Marsha Revel, Steps Down From Lindsay Lohan Case

Posted by Brad On August - 12 - 2010

Marsha Revel, the hardnosed Beverly Hills judge that sent Lindsay Lohan to the Big House, has removed herself from the case after a prosecutor complained she improperly contacted the rehab center will Lindsay will likely spend the next three months.

Well — if Lindsay weren’t working on her sobriety, this news would be enough to make her pop open a glass of bubbly!

According to a scoop from TMZ.com on Wednesday, Judge Revel recused herself on Friday. Los Angeles District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison says the contact with the UCLA Rehab Center was just one of several instances when Revel improperly communicated with participants and experts without the prosecutor present.

Superior Court Judge Elden Fox is now handling the Lohan case.

On Aug. 2, the Freaky Friday trainwreck was released from the women’s jail in Lynwood, where she served 14 days of a 90-day sentence for violating her probation in a 2007 drug case.
