Florence Henderson, has danced her last tango on “Dancing with the Stars.”
America’s favorite mom and her partner Corky Ballas had performed to the “Brady Bunch” theme song on Monday night, earning praise from the judges, who said that it had been her best dance yet. The judges had given them 21 points for their tango.
Henderon’s elimination was a bit of a surprise since she was not among the bottom two scorers on Monday. The 76-year-old actress was graceful in her defeat.
“I have been in television for over 50 years,” said Henderson. “I have to say this is one of the best produced shows I’ve ever been on. The best crew, hair, makeup, even the judges are the best.”
Henderson is known to have been a fan of the show.
“I hope I’ve inspired people to get up, off their behinds, and move, and dance, and live and enjoy life,” she said.
The two couples who did trail everyone else, Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas (18 points), and Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer (20 points), were the first deemed safe from elimination Tuesday night.
Palin’s safety was a surprise even to her partner, who host Tom Bergeron said had been worried over the elimination.
This week, Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy outscored Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough. The judges had said that Monday night’s performance was Brandy’s best this season yet. Meanwhile, Grey’s performance was good, but not her best, said judge Carrie Ann Inaba.
The R&B singer was asked to do a repeat of her their quickstep to the theme song for “Friends.”
Jason Derulo and Sharkira were the guest performers Tuesday night.
