Jets Coach Sal Alosi Suspended And Fined $25,000 For Tripping Player
One biggest headline that sweeps NFL Week 14 was the game between Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll was tripped intentionally by the New York Jets’ strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi on the sideline. Viewing it from any angle, clearly it’s a display of unsportsmanlike behavoir in the number one professional sport in America, the National Football League (NFL)
The Jet’s coach Sal Alosi later admitted that he interfered with Carroll who stumble and fell while running down the sideline. In a press release, “I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment,” Alosi said in a statement released by the Jets about 2 1/2 hours after the game. “My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for.”
Alosi declares later that he was ready for whatever his punishment would be after intentionally tripping Miami Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll in a game on Sunday.
NFL and Jets organization release the ax Monday, New York Jets assistant coach Sal Alosi has been suspended for the remainder of the season and will receive a $25,000 fine from the organization, the AOL News reported.
“We are extremely disappointed with what he did,” Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum said. “There’s no place for it in the game, and he knows that. It’s our job to hold him accountable for that.”
Earlier today, Alosi said, “I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows.”
The Jets lost their second straight game 10-6 and it boiled to the frustration on the Jets sideline.
