Watch: LeBron James Back Peddle; Doesn’t Own Up To “Karma” Tweet

Right after the Los Angeles Lakers put put a beat down on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday with a  55-point, LeBron James appeared to take the opportunity to mock his former team with a note on Twitter: “Crazy. Karma is a b****.. Gets you every time. Its not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!”

When asked to clarify his tweet before the Miami Heat’s game Wednesday against the Clippers, James denied the message was directed at the struggling Cavs — and even suggested it wasn’t his words

“It was just how I was feeling at the time,” James said. “It wasn’t even a comment from me, it was someone who sent it to me and I sent it out.”

His original message didn’t appear to be a “re-tweet,” so it’s unclear what James meant by saying it wasn’t his comment. Either way, James denies it was intended for the Cavs.

“It wasn’t towards that team,” James said. “It definitely wasn’t a good showing by that team last night, I know they wish they would have played better, but nothing towards them.”

He later added, “It wasn’t no hit at that franchise, no hit at that team, especially those players at all. I’ve moved on and hopefully that organization is continuing to move on, but I’m happy where I am as a Miami Heat player.”
