Adele’s 21 is “Numero Uno” in the US and the Grammy winner’s native UK, according to industry reports Wednesday.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer British singer Adele has rocketed to the top of the album charts this week after debuting her new release to sales topping 352,000 Stateside. The tally gives Adele the biggest sales week of 2011. She is, in fact, the first act to land her first two releases in the top 20 since Justin Bieber achieved the feat last year: Her award-winning 2009 debut, 19, shot from 50 to 16 on the Billboard 200.
Adele also sits atop the US Digital Albums Countdown with 217,000 downloads of her sophomore set sold.
