We all know how gas prices are taking a significant bite out of our wallets. Every time you turn around gas has gone up $0.10-$0.20. Facebook is even promoting a “Gas Out Day” on March 31 2011 where we do not buy gas for one whole day to protest rising gas prices and promote eco-friendly technologies.
Gas prices are currently around $3.50 a gallon. All the panic hype says they will be $5.00 a gallon by summer. In order for the “Gas Out Day” to be effective we cannot fuel up the day before or the day after in mass numbers. The “Gas Out Day” will send a great message, but in order for real change to happen we have to move away from gasoline and start promoting gas free technologies.
Companies such as KabsRide, who makes the coolest electric bicycles, are on the cutting edge of eco-friendly technologies. KR runs one of the largest eco-friendly “Go Green” campaigns in central Florida. They brought about awareness efforts and relief funds during the horrendous BP oil spill and continue to promote eco-friendly campaign efforts on Florida beaches. Such as their St. Patrick’s Day “Free Bike Giveaway” on Clearwater beach. Who says there is not good in the world?
