Dan Savage, a sex columnist and cofounder/author of the It Gets Better campaign/book, did an interview with Nightline on ABC News. During the interview he talked about his advice to straight women, his philosophy on relationships, and the It Gets Better Campaign.
Giving sex advice to straight women shocks him. Apparently he can get to the G spot faster than a straight man. Savage says: “That’s staggering to think I’m a gay man and I give college girls orgasms.” Now that is talent. His philosophy on soul mates and finding” the one” is what some people call pessimistic. He doesn’t believe there is one person you are supposed to be with for the rest of your life. Savage even says “There’s somebody out there for rent for everybody.” I happen to agree with him. Finding someone to love and love you in return is hard enough without trying to find the all elusive soul mate.
The It Gets Better project is by far the most important thing he has done with his life so far other than raising his adopted son. It Gets Better gives gay teens hope that the future can be bright and helps stave off gay teen suicide. It’s amazing how celebrities and politicians alike have banded with Savage to help spread the message to be proud of who you are, and to keep going no matter what the current circumstances are because they are only temporary.
