Saturday Michael Cole, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announcer, tweeted out an anti-gay slur toward a commentator just days after the WWE swore upon its grandmothers grave to end all homophobic language. I guess Cole did not get the memo. The commentator who received the verbal attack was Josh Matthews.
Cole has since deleted the tweet and apologized to “all who were offended.” How nice! I know that at least one person is sure to feel better now. Cole sweetie apologize to Matthews, he is the one you insulted not the rest of us. What is really funny is how a man who looks like a gay porn reject is hurling homophobic insults at someone else.
Now like a good little bigot he gets to attend antidiscrimination training in an attempt to pretend like he is playing nice. The antidiscrimination training is being held by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). GLADD first got involved with the WWE when John Cena hurled anti-gay slurs at Dwayne Johnson “The Rock” and the Miz last month on a WWE Raw episode. What I gather from this whole incident is half naked men who make a living grabbing each other should not say anything remotely homophobic. It could be misconstrued at self-loathing.
