In an effort to honor and commemorate Elizabeth Taylor for the work as an AIDS activist West Hollywood residents want to name a street after her. Taylor spent a lot of time at numerous spots in West Hollywood mixing with the locals including The Abbey, where she sipped instead of slammed tequila shots like a lady.
Formal discussions about naming a street after Taylor has not taken place among the city leaders. The West Hollywood City Council is known for being the first movers on voting for official bands and proclamations; beating other cities to the punch. Why they are dragging their feet on this one is far beyond me. LA Weekly says: “Now they have a chance to do something truly deserved and something residents very much want.” So hurry up already and make the vote.
