An Oregon State University offensive lineman has been dismissed from the team after police say they found him naked and intoxicated in a stranger’s home and had to use stun guns to take him into custody.

Corvallis police say they received the call about a naked intruder early Sunday.

Responding officers ordered 19-year-old Tyler Patrick Thomas of Kalispell, Mont., to get on the ground, Lt. Tim Brewer said.

Thomas refused and instead dropped into a three-point stance like a football player and lunged at the officers, Brewer said. At that point, he said, two officers fired their stun guns.

Brewer said Thomas “absolutely was intoxicated” at the time.

Thomas was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Benton County jail and later released.

A home phone listing for Thomas couldn’t be found.

Oregon State head coach Mike Riley dismissed Thomas from the team Monday, OSU athletics spokesman Steve Fenk said. Thomas redshirted during the Beavers’ 2009 season.

Twelve-year-old Cassidy stopped at an Amarillo, Texas, gas station with her grandmother, Sharrell Blackenburger, when 58-year-old Gary Carner tried to abduct her.

Blackenburger wouldn’t let Carner get off easily, and fought with him until she was shot and killed. The struggle fortunately alerted several witnesses, who told police the make and model of Carner’s truck. Authorities caught up with him and killed him in a scuffle just a few hours later after abducting an 11-year-old girl.

Now, Cassidy is honoring the memory of her grandmother by wearing her wedding ring around her neck. She told ABC 7 News that she still has a part of her grandmother with her, and that her presence always made others feel good.

“I know she’s watching down on me. She will always love me.”
The girl later taken by Carner was not hurt. He had apparently failed to kidnap two women earlier that day.

The basketball court isn’t the only place where Sacramento Kings player Tyreke Evans apparently likes to move fast.

A video released by the California Highway Patrol shows Evans speeding past vehicles on Interstate 80 in his purple Mercedes. CHP officers say he was driving 120 to 130 miles per hour.

The video of the 20-year-old NBA Rookie of the Year was shot from a plane on Memorial Day weekend.

After being stopped by police, Evans was arrested at gunpoint.

Authorities say the video offers evidence that Evans may have been racing another vehicle.

Attorneys say he pleaded no contest to reckless driving, was sentenced to 80 hours of community service, ordered to take part in teen driving programs and lost his license for 30 days.

A jury sentenced a south Texas man to death on Thursday, four days after convicting him of capital murder for beheading his common law wife’s three children in 2003.

It was the second time John Allen Rubio has been sentenced to death for the slayings. He was convicted of killing the children all under the age of four — smothering, stabbing and ultimately decapitating them — in a windowless Brownsville apartment.

Before entering the sentence, Hidalgo County District Judge Noe Gonzalez asked Rubio if there was anything he would like to say.

“I’m sorry it all had to come to this,” Rubio said quietly. “I thank the jury for giving me a chance to show what I could.”

Gonzalez, who said he had sentenced more people to death than any judge in south Texas, said he recognized that a lot of people went through what Rubio did, citing his abusive and troubled childhood.

“I don’t know what happened, but I know what this jury found,” Gonzalez said. “I have never seen a crime like this.” Jurors deliberated for about four hours.

Jurors on Monday found Rubio guilty on four counts of capital murder — one charge for each child and one for the children together.

Rubio was previously convicted of the murders in 2003 and sentenced to death. But a state appeals court overturned his conviction in 2007 because statements from the children’s mother, Angela Camacho, were wrongly allowed as evidence during the trial. Camacho pleaded guilty and is serving a life sentence for her role in the slayings.

At his current trial, Rubio pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but the jury rejected that defense.

A Long Island mother was arrested and charged with driving drunk after one of her own children called 911.

According to authorities, Jamie Hicks, 48, was swerving into other lanes of traffic on Interstate 84 in the Town of Southeast Sunday while her two children, aged 10 and 12, sat in the backseat.

State troopers located and pulled Hicks over after one of the children called 911, indicating to the operator that the woman was “not speaking correctly” and driving recklessly.

It wasn’t immediately clear which child called police.

Hicks, a resident of Islip, was arrested and charged under Leandra’s Law, which makes it a felony to drive drunk with a passenger 15-years-old and under.

The Long Island mother was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and later released on $1000/$2000 cash/bond bail that was set. She is due back in Southeast Court on Aug. 17.

Larissa Riquelme, the lingerie model whose passionate support of Paraguay during the World Cup turned heads around the world, has reportedly been robbed. According to the Brazilian network Rede Globo, the curvaceous model was assaulted in the Ipanema neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. The assailants reportedly took a phone, passport and two digital cameras.

After the incident, the beautiful soccer fan took to Twitter to reassure any rattled fands. “I’m fine, thank you all for your support!,” she wrote.

Riquelme gained fame by displaying her body while supporting Paraguay’s World Cup efforts. She pledged to run naked through the streets of Asuncion if Paraguay won the tournament. They did not, and Riquelme’s nude hopes ended in heartbreak. Ultimately, the gorgeous soccer fan decided to run naked after all as a “present” to the team’s players. While she has not yet made good on the promise, Riquelme recently frolicked in Brazil.

Three Philadelphia police officers were caught after plotting with drug dealers and staged a traffic stop.

The plan consisted of a scheme to steal $15,000 worth of heroin from a supplier and sell it to citizens of Philadelphia.

Officers Mark Williams, James Venziale and Robert Snyder were all convicted on a 14-count indictment Tuesday, along with three suspected drug dealers.

The plan unfolded for the officers when they tried to sell the 300 grams of heroin to an undercover federal agent.

The police officers and two drug dealers were arrested for the crime and so was the wife of one of the officers. Snyder’s wife Christal, is the only one not being held in custody right now from all those arrested.

Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said he would quickly begin the process of terminating them.

The FBI were still on the hunt as of Tuesday for Miguel Santiago who is suspected of being one of the drug suppliers. The 39 year old Philadelphia resident will be the lone defendant in the trial that will not have a conspiracy charge against him.

Tampa, Florida — The murders of TPD Officers Dave Curtis and Jeff Kocab were caught on video, and that video helped detectives identify Dontae Morris as the suspected gunman, a just-released police report says.

A dashboard camera was recording — looking outward from Officer Dave Curtis’ police cruiser — when he stopped a 1994 red Toyota with no license plate early Tuesday morning.

That’s according to the recently released arrest report for Dontae Morris, the man accused of killing the two officers and another Tampa man, Derek Anderson, weeks earlier.

“The traffic stop and shooting were recorded by the officer’s video camera and it has been preserved,” the report reads.

Police say Morris pulled himself away from Officer Curtis and Curtis’ backup, Officer Kocab, as they tried to arrest Morris on an outstanding warrant. Then, according to police, Morris shot both of the officers in the upper body.

That video was quickly turned into an investigative tool by detectives.

Officers showed still images taken from the dashcam video to Angela Murphy, a woman police say shares a child with Dontae Morris. She told police Morris was the gunman in the picture, confirming his identity “by clothing and face,” the report says.

Until the release of this arrest report after Dontae Morris was taken into custody Friday night, Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor had declined to say whether any camera recorded the shooting.

The video has not been released by police, but it may become available to the public during the “discovery” process leading up to Morris’ murder trial, when attorneys are required by law to share evidence with each other and enter it into the public record.

The man accused of killing two Tampa police officers has a history of arrests dating back to at least 2003, records show.

Dontae Rashawn Morris, 24, has been charged with writing bad checks, possession of cocaine and attempted murder — but nothing as violent as what he is accused of now.

Tampa Police say Morris shot and killed two officers after a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

Officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab, both 31, were slain after Curtis pulled Morris over because the car he was riding in did not have a visible license plate. Morris had outstanding warrants for writing bad checks at a grocery store in Jacksonville, officials said.

Police have launched a statewide manhunt for Morris. The driver of the car, Cortnee Nicole Brantly, fled the scene but was captured. She was later released from custody.

Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor said Brantly may be charged later.

Detectives tried to reach Morris’ friends and acquaintances Tuesday night. A large police command center near the scene of the shooting buzzed with activity overnight.

Records show Morris served time in state prison on cocaine charges on two separate occasions; a two year sentence, which ended in April and a nine month stint from 2004 to 2005.

Prison records show Morris was released in January of 2005. In October of that year, he was arrested and charged with attempted murder — but he was acquitted of the crime.

Meanwhile, Morris’s family asked that he be allowed to turn himself in safely. A pastor for Morris’ family said they do not condone his actions.

Authorities believed Morris was still in the Tampa area.

Moriah Lazar Hara, 35 --a very obviously pregnant bank executive was beaten and robbed in broad daylight near her Gramercy Park apartment by a teenage thug and his pack of friends.

Moriah Lazar Hara, 35 –a very obviously pregnant bank executive was beaten and robbed in broad daylight near her Gramercy Park apartment in New York by a teenage thug and his pack of friends.

Lazar works as a VP for Threat Management and was understandably so traumatized by the June 11 attack that she and her husband moved out of the neighborhood less than two weeks later.

“I wanted to get the hell out of there,” said Hara, who was five months pregnant and heading home from a doctor’s appointment when she was assaulted.

“My first thought when this happened was for my baby,” she said from her new Upper East Side apartment. “Any trauma can impact the baby. Luckily, the doctor gave me the all-clear.”

Hara’s ordeal began around 2 p.m. that day, when she tried to walk past Lequint Singleton, 17, who is 6-foot-5 and 192 pounds, and his three cohorts as they hogged the sidewalk at East 15th Street and Irving Place.

Hara accidentally brushed a girl in the group, who then engaged her in a heated exchange.

“You don’t want to pick a fight with me,” Hara recalled the girl saying. The next thing she knew she was getting slapped in the face by everyone in the group.

When Hara tried dialing 911, Singleton and the three others elbowed, pushed and punched her, court papers say.

One goon swiped her phone and handed it to Singleton — whose rap sheet includes three arrests, including gun possession, sources said.

The thugs then fled and Hara ran home to call 911.

Witnesses later identified Singleton, who was picked up Friday and charged with robbery, grand larceny, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property.

Singleton, of Harlem, is being held on $3,000 bond at Rikers Island. His pals are still at large.

It’s unclear if Singleton and his accomplices are students at Washington Irving HS, which is less than two blocks away from the assault site and was once deemed an “impact school” because of violence.

Hara said area residents have long complained about the large groups of unruly students who flood local streets at dismissal every weekday.

“There is no doubt in my mind if something isn’t done about this, someone will be murdered out in front of that school,” she said.
