Howard Stern and his agent are suing Sirius XM Radio Inc. for failing to pay stock awards they say are due for helping it exceed subscriber growth targets on its way to becoming the dominant satellite radio service in the country.

The New York-based company, which just signed Stern to a second five-year contract, said it was “surprised and disappointed” at the suit and said it had lived up to the obligations of their previous deal.

In the suit filed Tuesday in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Stern’s production company, One Twelve Inc., and his agent Don Buchwald said that Sirius made an initial bonus stock award after Stern started in January 2006 but failed to do so over the subsequent four years.

The suit claims that Stern helped Sirius exceed its subscriber targets by at least 2 million subscribers in each year of the contract, triggering a new stock award each time.

It also said Stern put Sirius in a position to complete its 2008 acquisition of XM Satellite Radio Inc., which had also courted Stern years earlier.

Sirius had around 230,000 subscribers to XM’s 1.3 million at the end of 2003. As of the end of December, the combined company had 20.2 million.

Buchwald and Stern were told last year by Sirius XM’s general counsel, Richard Basch, that later bonus stock awards were not granted because the company did not include XM’s subscriber base toward the total number of Sirius subscribers.

“When Sirius needed Stern, it promised him a share in any success that the company achieved,” the suit said. “But now that Sirius has conquered its chief competitor and acquired more than 20 million subscribers, it has reneged on its commitment to Stern, unilaterally deciding that it has paid him enough.”

The suit follows a public feud last year that preceded the end of his $500 million, five-year contract.

The bickering appeared to end when Stern, 57, announced on his weekday morning show in December that he had agreed to a new deal running through 2015, although terms were not disclosed.

Stern, whose show airs from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eastern time Monday through Thursday, freed himself from the confines of terrestrial radio on Dec. 16, 2005, after hosting a wildly popular show syndicated by a division of CBS Corp.

Sirius shares fell 6 cents, or 3.2 percent, to $1.65 in after-hours trading Tuesday after closing the regular session off a penny at $1.71.

Howard Stern was a self-described Prince fan up until earlier this week. That decades-long support ended, however, when the shock jocked sided slighted The Purple One over his recent snub of socialite Kim Kardashian, who was dragged onstage unannounced at a Prince concert in New York City Monday, only to be booted when she became too nervous to show off her fancy footwear for the pop prince.

“He seems to be an arrogant asshole lately,” Stern said on his satellite radio show Wednesday. “The guy is just weird, he gives concerts with the lights out. She doesn’t know what to do. Apparently she’s supposed to dance like a stripper for him and she just stood there not knowing what to do. He throws her off the stage because she can’t read fucking Prince’s mind. He’s a bullshit artist. I’m done with him.”

According to a report from Popeater, the radio host just joined Twitter and in an effort to get a steady stream of followers, he has promised to tweet nude pictures of wife Beth Ostrosky.

Howard Stern actually tweeted actor John Stamos for a bit of Twitter tutoring. (Say that five times fast!) In the tweet, he actually hinted at the fact that he’s becoming a dinosaur of sorts.

“@JohnStamos John…I have no idea how to work twitter…help. I’m feeling very out of it,” Stern tweeted.

Stern has more than 150,000 followers, and it’s been just about a week since the king of vulgarity joined Twitter. Do you think they joined to see if he had anything valuable to say, or do you think it’s solely for the opportunity to see the photos of his naked wife?

Howard Stern is like a bad itch. He won’t ever go away, and he becomes more annoying each time you scratch. He’s a pro at finding ways to stir up controversy and gain attention, and never, ever is it for a positive reason. Yet somehow the man has fans who religiously listen to his radio programs. It seems the element of utter shock combined with no-holes-barred sexual and/or sexually perverse content sells.

If you’ve kept a close eye on the news you may have noticed the sudden born-again attitudes of Hollywood wild childs.  First acid-tongued Howard Stern announced his cease and desist of the word “faggot”.    Now Perez Hilton, who recently turned over a new leaf, is issuing apologies to all the celebrities and people that he has hurt.

First of all if you are stupid enough to believe this bull s**t give me a call. I have an invisible bridge to sell you.

Perez Hilton (real name Mario Lavandeira) and Howard Stern who have literally become millionaires ridiculing and shamelessly bullying people, particularly women, for YEARS are now “turning over a new leaf”?  Bitch please… Let’s all do a massive eye-roll.

If either one of these jack asses were sincerely contrite they would give all the money they have earned demoralizing poeple to charities such as GLAAD and Charity’s Hope for battered women. Who would have thought shock jock Howard Stern would have a soft side?  He is making a conscious effort to stop saying “faggot” when referring to gay people.  Stern’s reasoning for avoiding this “F-bomb” is gay people are often bullied and abused according to his statement “I have a tremendous compassion for people that are homosexual. I feel that they are bullied and abused in our society. They take such shit just because they like to be with the same sex, and it’s so absurd to me.’ ‘It must be a terrible thing to be exposed to that kind of hatred and be hated just because of your sexuality.”  When famous shock jocks like Howard Stern are trying to be more politically correct one has to wonder what the world is coming to.  I do not know if it is because he is getting older, if he is afraid of offending the wrong people, or if he is trying to make a late bid to get into heaven, but Howard you need to be the shock jock we all know and love.  Grow a pair!!! This is a total turnaround from who you have portrayed yourself to be.

On Monday, Courteney Cox and David Arquette confirmed that they have separated after 11 years of marriage — and David’s wasting no time spilling the beans on the issues that lead to the couple’s split. Chief on Courteney’s list of complaints? David’s kookiness.

Arquette, 39, called into Howard Stern’s Sirius radio show early Tuesday, where he confessed that wife Courteney, 46, asked him for a “trial separation” after their 11th anniversary in June.

“I don’t want to be your mother anymore,” Courteney allegedly told David during the tense encounter. Apparently, the admittedly-immature actor’s penchant for tattoos and foolery has been a major source of contention between the couple. That and the fact that they hadn’t had sex in four months.

“We’re not having sex, and I completely understand,” David told Stern. “She’s in a place of wanting to be real and emotional. She’s an emotional being. She’s an amazing woman. If it doesn’t feel right, she doesn’t feel like bonding in that way.”

Arquette also copped to romping with Hollywood cocktail waitress Jasmine Waltz, perhaps best known as the celebrity humper who famously decked Lindsay Lohan in the kisser during a dispute between the two last July. Arquette insists that he hooked up with Jasmine — who has been romantically-linked to Jesse McCarthy, Ryan Seacrest, and Sean Stewart — after breaking up with Courteney. That relationship has since ended. David — who denies that Courteney had an affair with her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt — also revealed that they broke the news to their daughter together while on a picnic and that she “took it pretty hard.”

Cox and Arquette met on the set of Scream in 1996 and married three years later. Their daughter Coco is six. The former couple will reprise their roles as unlikely lovers Dewey and Gail Weathers in the film’s upcoming fourth sequel, in theaters next year.

Howard Stern thinks Larry King is both a “loser” and “the luckiest man in show business,” according to the New York Daily News’ Gatecrasher, citing the shock jock from a weekend Hamptons party.

But those were far from the worst of Stern’s words — he called the soon-to-be-retired CNN newsman a “f—ing ass—” on his satellite radio show Monday, after hearing the ‘Larry King Live’ host bashed him in a magazine interview last week.

“No, I wouldn’t want to be compared to Howard Stern,” King, 76, initially said when Steppin’ Out magazine asked if Stern, 56, might make a fitting replacement for his nightly slot (King will sign off this fall). “He’s not tasteful at all. You go to the least common denominator and that’s Howard Stern. I regard Howard Stern as worthless.”
The Daily News’ columnist informed Howard Stern of King’s comments over the weekend in Southampton, NY. “It’s alleged he was banging his wife’s sister and he’s saying that I’m tasteless?” Stern replied, reportedly incredulous. “He’s a frog … an imp and he’s the luckiest man in show business.”

Stern gave a harsh sum-up of King’s career: “He did overnight radio. He got no ratings. He moved to CNN, where he had no competition. As soon as MSNBC and Fox News gave him a little bit of competition, the cards folded. Let’s be honest, he didn’t retire willingly. The man had one foot in the grave. It’s obvious, he is no longer relevant.”

While the shock jock indicated no plans to take over King’s program (or to join ‘American Idol,’ it should be noted), he hypothesized that if he did slide into King’s chair, “I would do everything that Larry doesn’t do because Larry’s a loser and he lost his entire audience.”

King declined the News when asked for a rebuttal.

He has an incredible way of getting people to spill the beans and Howard Stern got some juicy details from Michelle McGee on how she met Jesse James.

In a raunchy interview on Wednesday (May 5), “Bombshell” told Stern she originally met James on MySpace after answering an ad he placed seeking models.

Continuing on, McGee explained that when she went to meet Jess in person at the his shop in Long Beach, CA, James began instigating the sex between them by kissing her, and that she only went along with it when insisted he was separated. Once things heated up, McGee said James ripped her pants and leggings off, which turned her on. She said there was very little foreplay, although she recalled performing oral sex on him for a short time.

Not sparing any details, Michelle also admitted that she and James had intimate relations a few times a night, several nights a week, in different words of course.

Wonder how Jessica Simpson maintains her million-dollar smile?

So does she. “I don’t brush my teeth,” she told iheartradio Thursday. “No, really!”

“I just use Listerine — and sometimes I’ll use my sweater,” she claimed, bursting into laughter.

“I do brush every now and again, but my teeth are extremely powerful. Fine, maybe when I’m 60 I’ll all, “ow!”

The singer adds that she loves “anything fried,” and that her nutrition habits weren’t always the best. “Growing up in Texas for me, fish was a fish stick. We weren’t really the healthiest of people. [My mom] didn’t force me to eat healthy.”

Simpson, 29, opened up yet again about her ex John Mayer‘s raunchy comments regarding their sex life. “Maybe in his mind he was thinking about giving me a compliment but he wasn’t,” she quipped.

“In relationships, in general, going through a divorce and going through very public break-ups … you don’t want to disappoint people who are rooting for you to be successful in love. I just have to find the right man.”

Simpsn also came to Gaby Sidibe‘s defense against Howard Stern for his recent outburst that the Oscar nominee could kiss her Hollywood career goodbye because of her weight.

“I’m actually surprised somebody had the cojones to say that,” Simpson tells me from a New York City hotel. “I just think that’s really disrespectful.”

And not exactly accurate…

“It’s unfortunate because she walked the red carpet at the Oscars and she owned it,” Simpson said of the Precious star. “She was beautiful. There was no denying that she did not think she was the most beautiful person on that red carpet. She was just owning that moment for herself. She had such confidence and I absolutely 100 percent think she could get anything in the world that she wants.”

Simpson knows a thing or two about being publicly crucified for her appearance. But she’s fighting back.

“I don’t care how harsh the criticism is, you’re not going to take me down,” she said. “I’m going to get back up and fight. I’m not going to let anybody’s opinions destroy me.”

Simpson’s new VH1 reality series, The Price of Beauty, follows her and best buddies Ken Paves and Cacee Cobb as they travel the world exploring different cultures’ ideas of beauty.

The show, premiering March 15, came along just at the right time, following Simpson’s mom jeans fiasco last year. “After all the public scrutiny that I went through in the past year, I felt I was just stripped of everything,” she says.

But now? “I got curves!” she says. “I can’t get rid of them. There ain’t no getting rid of them. At this point, I just celebrate them…I’m a healthy girl. I work out. I box. I try to eat right. I still like my corn dogs, my burgers and my onion rings. I can’t help it. Just as long as I feel good about myself and if I feel healthy, I feel beautiful.”

Especially when she lets her hair down.

“I feel most beautiful when I am in my bathtub, listening to Sade,” she said. “I also feel beautiful when I laugh and when I’m with my friends and I just have a T-shirt and booty shorts on.”

And then, without missing a beat, she laughs, “With my heels on, of course.”

Howard Stern unleashed a vicious attack on Gabourey Sidibe on his Sirius satellite show on Monday.

“There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business and she’s never going to be in another movie,” he said. “She should have gotten the Best Actress award because she’s never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?”

He and co-host Robin Quivers went on to discuss the impossibility of Gabby finding any work in Hollywood after ‘Precious.’

“And Oprah’s lying and saying you’re going to have a brilliant career,” said Robin.

“Oprah’s another liar, a filthy liar,” said Stern. “She’s telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she’s going to have a career.”

It looks like Gabby will prove Stern wrong. She is lined up to appear on the new Showtime series ‘The C Word’ and her next big-screen appearance will be opposite Zoe Kravitz in the drama ‘Yelling to the Sky.’
