Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin’s baby’s daddy, is releasing a tell all book about his experience with Sarah Palin and her entire family. The book is titled Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs. Johnston says in his own words “I want to tell the truth about my close relationship with the Palins,’ ‘My sense of Sarah and my perplexing fall from grace – how I feel and what I’ve learned,’ ‘I’m doing this for me, for my boy Tripp and for the country.’”

If you ask me this attention ho is making one last stab at trying to stay in the spotlight. Let’s not forget he showed his junk for Playgirl. If he had not knocked Bristol Palin up we would not know who he is. I’m just wondering when we are going to see him staring in a porno. At least the boy is sticking with his talents.

Academy Award-nominated actress Julianne Moore has been tapped to play another famous ginger — former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — in an HBO Original Movie that will be adapted from Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s bestselling expose on the 2008 presidential campaign, Deadline.com scooped this afternoon.

What do we think of this casting, ‘Crunchers?

Palin was most famoulsy portrayed by 30 Rock star Tina Fey, a SP doppleganger who returned to her Saturday Night Live stomping ground to parody the Republican Vice-Presidential nominee in a series of side-splitting spoofs leading up to the election that November.

Game Change follows John McCain’s unsuccessful second run for The White House, from his selection of the the then-little known Alaska governor as his running mate to their ultimate defeat to the Obama/Biden ticket in the general election, the network said Wednesday. Director Jay Roach — perhaps best known for his box office comedies Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Meet the Parents — is stepping behind the lens for the flick. Screenwriter Danny Strong is putting the finishing touches on the teleplay. The guys previously collaborated on another Ripped From the Headlines HBO political drama Recount, about the aftermath of the 2000 presidential election.

The public clash between conservative political superstar Sarah Palin and self-described “D-List” comedian Kathy Griffin gained momentum in recent days, with each taking verbal jabs at the other.

After Palin, a former Alaska governor and one-time Republican vice presidential candidate, called Griffin a “bully” over the weekend, the comedian’s publicist made a dig at Palin by highlighting her starring role on last year’s TV show “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” rather than her political resume.

“As a fellow reality star, Kathy would like to extend free tickets to her upcoming Broadway show to reality star Sarah Palin and her reality TV crew,” the publicist told ABC News in an article posted online on Monday.

“Kathy supports all reality stars regardless of what they say about her,” the spokeswoman said.

Griffin’s reality show airs on cable TV network Bravo and is called “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List,” a joke about her life on the fringes of fame.

Griffin’s publicist did not return calls about Palin.

The feud between the two women goes back months.

Aside from joking about Palin, Griffin has also made fun of the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate’s daughter Bristol, 20, for gaining weight on TV show “Dancing with the Stars,” and she slammed Palin’s other daughter Willow, 16, for anti-gay slurs the teen made on Facebook.

The feud picked up again this past Saturday when Palin, a politician-turned-pundit, appeared on Fox News and, in response to an anchor’s question, blasted Griffin.

“She’s a 50 year-old, adult bully, really, is what she is, kind of a has been comedienne, and she can (make jokes about) me, I would just ask for respect to my children,” Palin said.

Palin has broadly hinted she could run for president in 2012. Her feud with Griffin gives no sign of letting up, because the comedian is slated to appear on the hit Fox musical comedy show “Glee,” as a Palin-like Tea Party character.

Today New Hampshire conducted their 2012 GOP Presidential Straw Pole. The results are in with Mitt Romney in the lead with 35% of the vote. Gingrich, Giuliani, and Santorum all got 3% or less. Donald Trump: 1%. Let’s hope Romney is smart enough to not choose Sara Palin as his running mate.

Sarah Palin is finally coming forward to address the shooting in Arizone and to defend herself against an overwhelming wave of criticism following it. The former Alaskan Governor said Monday that she used the term “blood libel” to only describe the comments made by those who falsely tried to link conservatives to the assassination attempt against Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Palin spoke out on Fox’s Sean Hannity show and related that the term referred to those “falsely accused of having blood on their hands.”

Many Jewish groups immediately became angered and strongly protested her use of the term, which historically was used to accuse Jews of using blood of Christians in religious rituals.

“I think the critics again were using anything that they could gather out of that statement,” she said. “You can spin up anything out of anybody’s statements that are released and use them against the person who is making the statement.”

Palin, a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2012, said the criticism won’t stop her from speaking out and accusing Democrats of taking the country in the wrong direction.

She vowed to keep speaking out with the message that the country is headed in the wrong direction. She says “They’re not going to shut me up.”

Palin said her political action committee’s use of crosshairs to identify targeted congressional districts for Republican pickups was not original and has been used by Democrats. As she spoke, a Democratic map was shown on the screen with circular targets of districts Democrats wanted to win.

The former governor said the crosshairs graphic was taken down by the PAC’s hired graphic artist after the criticism began. “I don’t think that was inappropriate,” she said

The shooting on Jan. 8 killed six and wounded 13, including Giffords. Her district was among those in the Palin site’s crosshairs.

Palin insisted that she has “repeated over and over my condemnation of violence.” She said she was frustrated that conservatives who responded to false accusations _blaming them for the shootings – have become part of the story.

Asked why she was singled out for criticism, Palin, speaking from her hometown of Wasilla, said, “I know that a lot of those on the left hate my message and they will do all they can to stop me because they don’t like the message.”

Palin added, “I receive a lot of death threats. My children do.”

The former governor said she supported calls for civility in politics but added, “we should not use an event like that in Arizona to stifle debate.”

Asked what she thought of Obama’s speech at a memorial for the victims, Palin said, “I thought there were parts of it that really hit home that all of us can hold onto and live out.”

Palin received lower marks for her handling of the tragedy from more Americans than President Barack Obama did, a Washington Post-ABC News poll released Monday found.

Nearly 8 in 10 of those surveyed gave Obama high marks for his response, and 71 percent of Republicans approved of Obama’s leadership after the shootings, the Post reported. About 30 percent of those polled approved of Palin’s response; among Republicans, her positive marks rose to 56 percent.

More than half of those polled said the tone of the country’s political discourse didn’t contribute to the shootings.

The poll of 1,053 adults, conducted by telephone Jan. 13-16, had a margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

The Anti-Defamation League, an organization that combats anti-Semitism, says Sarah Palin should have used a different phrase than “blood libel” to characterize attempts to link her discourse to the Arizona shootings, the latest in a series of criticisms leveled at the former Alaska governor Wednesday over her use of the controversial term.

“We wish that Palin had not invoked the phrase “blood-libel” in reference to the actions of journalists and pundits in placing blame for the shooting in Tucson on others,” said ADL National Director Abraham Foxman in a statement. “While the term ‘blood-libel’ has become part of the English parlance to refer to someone being falsely accused, we wish that Palin had used another phrase, instead of one so fraught with pain in Jewish history.”

Prominent Republican Sarah Palin on Wednesday accused critics of “blood libel” by blaming her rhetoric for contributing to the shooting rampage in Tucson that killed six and wounded 14, including Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords.

“Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own. They begin and end with the criminals who commit them,” the conservative Tea Party favorite and former Alaska governor said in her first major response to critics.

“Especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.”

Palin, the Republican Party’s 2008 vice presidential nominee, posted her remarks to her Facebook page in both a video and text.

Suspected gunman Jared Lee Loughner faces five federal charges, including the attempted assassination of Giffords, who was in critical condition with a bullet wound to the head after being shot at a constituent outreach event at a Tucson, Arizona, shopping mall.

Some commentators and bloggers questioned whether last year’s election rhetoric from conservative Republicans including Palin and some Tea Party candidates created a climate that bred violence.

Politicians from both parties have urged a softening of the often bitter political tone.

Authorities have not cited a motive in the shootings.

Palin urged conservatives to “reload,” not retreat, after a fierce debate over President Barack Obama’s plans to overhaul the healthcare system. She also published an electoral map identifying vulnerable Democratic congressional districts, including Giffords’, with rifle cross-hairs.

Palin said blame should rest “not with all the citizens of a state, not with those who listen to talk radio, not with maps of swing districts used by both sides of the aisle, not with law-abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their First Amendment rights at campaign rallies, not with those who proudly voted in the last election.”

An unlikely champion came to the defense of battered republican Sarah Palin yesterday. Barbara Walters stated on Monday’s “View.” The former Alaska governor is coming under much heated criticism in the wake of the Arizona shooting for the map she put out which placed Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ district, among others, in crosshairs. (Giffords was shot in the massacre, which killed six.)

Walters, though, said that Palin was being unfairly singled out. “I’m feeling bad for Sarah Palin,” she said, though she added that the crosshairs map was a bad idea.

Walters continued:

“This is a deranged young man. This is a Timothy McVeigh. Whether this happened because there is…too much commentary, too much violence…whether that really spurred him on or whether he’s just a very sick person, we don’t know and we don’t know what his motives are…to blame Sarah Palin, as some are doing, I think is very unfair to her.”

Immediately following Saturday's tragic shooting in Arizona, the internet had quickly focused on the dubious map placed on Sarah Palin's facebook

Immediately following Saturday’s tragic shooting in Arizona, the internet had quickly focused on the dubious map placed on Sarah Palin’s facebook last year that had cross hairs or gun-sight images over the congressional districts of House Democrats that Palin wanted to win for the GOP in 2010.

Among her targets: Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, who was left in critical condition following Saturday’s shooting. Although the alleged gunman, Jared Loughner’s motives are not known his friends, have suggested that he had held a grudge for at least three years against Giffords dating back to when he met her in 2007.

Still, some believe that incendiary rhetoric like Palin’s bears some responsibility in the tragedy. Giffords herself had previously raised concerns about Palin’s map: “The way that she has it depicted has the cross hairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they have got to realize there are consequences to that action.”

On Sunday, the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat, Dirk Durbin, cited the Palin map as a sign of the “toxic rhetoric” that has come to define national politics in recent years. He said he was not making a direct connection between Palin and the shootings.

Palin offered her condolences after the massacre Saturday in a brief message on Facebook and has said little else of it. But she did email conservative radio host Glenn Beck, who read part of their exchange on the air Monday morning, per Politico’s Keach Hagey. “I hate violence,” Palin wrote Beck. “I hate war. Our children will not have peace if politicos just capitalize on this to succeed in portraying anyone as inciting terror and violence.”

Still, Palin has become a focal point in the debate over heated rhetoric, and her response is likely to be a defining moment in her political career. One informal but telling sign of the potential stakes for Palin: According to Facebook, the top question dominating debate on the site over the weekend was “Is Sarah Palin to blame?”

So far, Palin’s team, angry that the former governor is being linked to the shooting, has struggled to contain the controversy. On Saturday, the map citing Giffords was abruptly pulled from the SarahPAC site — even though it remained on Facebook. Rebecca Mansour, a Palin aide, said on Twitter that the map was pulled because it “was no longer relevant” since the 2010 campaign was over.

In a subsequent interview with GOP radio host Tammy Bruce, Mansour defended the map. They weren’t gun sights but “surveyor’s symbols,” Bruce suggested, according to Alaska Dispatch, and Mansour agreed. But that contradicted Palin’s own prior characterization of the map’s symbol as a “‘bullseye’ icon.”

According to Alaska Dispatch, Mansour said attempts to link Palin to the shooting were “obscene” and “appalling.” She said there was “nothing irresponsible about our graphic.”

Palin is hardly the first politician to use gun or military imagery in campaigning. As the Palin’s supporters on the right noted, even President Obama has used similar metaphors, telling Democratic donors in 2008, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” And Palin’s former running mate, Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain, had defended Palin’s call for followers to “reload” as they rallied to capture Congress. “I’ve heard all of the language throughout my political career,” he said.

But the bigger question is whether Palin will seek to passionately defend her comments and political ground — as she has been known to do during past controversies — or whether she, like other political figures in recent days, will urge her supporters to cool the rhetoric.

As Politico’s Jonathan Martin says: “Whether she defends, explains or even responds at all to the intense criticism of her brand of confrontational politics could well determine her trajectory on the national scene — and it’s likely to reveal the scope of her ambitions as well.”

Sarah Palin shocked everybody Monday evening when she retweeted a pro-gay message

Sarah Palin shocked everybody Monday evening when she retweeted a pro-gay message originating from lesbian conservative commentator Tammy Bruce reguarding the “hypocrisy” of homophobic as well as anti-gay actions.

Bruce originally wrote “But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already–the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed,” regarding U.S. Navy Captain Owen Honors dismissal, which followed the release of controversial videos made aboard the USS Enterprise featuring gay slurs, cross-dressing, and simulated same-sex encounters.

Max Read at Gawker has suggested a number of motives could have contributed to Palin’s decision to delve into such a politically charged post. He has also not ruled out potential confusion or a simple mistake. Read also holds the believe that Palin thinks it to be the right forum to outline her stance on gay rights.

Some people question the wisdom to make such a bold statement by rebroadcasting a message referring to gay people as “homos”. Tammy Bruce has rushed to Palin’s defense on her Twitter page, and claimed to know her heart by saying ”I know Gov Palin & this “anti-gay” meme has been a lie–plain & simple. She’s a decent woman & friend to the community.”
